HVAC Service Technician — Santa Rosa Beach / South Walton, FL

Role overview

Service residential air-conditioning and heat-pump systems across South Walton and 30A, from diagnostics and repairs to planned maintenance and replacement support when assigned. Bring sound troubleshooting, safe workmanship and clear customer communication to each visit, backed by complete checks, accurate notes and a thorough handoff.

What you’ll do

• Diagnose and repair residential air-conditioning and heat-pump systems using safe methods and the required verification steps.
• Complete planned maintenance methodically; record actual readings, findings, and recommended next steps rather than assuming normal operation means every check is complete.
• Follow the assigned checklist through closeout, including on familiar systems. Verify the work, secure panels, restore the work area, and make any unfinished item visible before handing the visit back.
• Explain findings clearly, protect customer property, and communicate early when access, scope, timing, or a safety concern prevents the planned work. Record what was and was not completed.
• Support replacement, indoor-air-quality, and dehumidification work when assigned, with the same attention to verification and documentation.

What you bring

• Hands-on residential air-conditioning and heat-pump service experience and active EPA 608 certification are required.
• Prepare consistently, work safely, document service findings accurately and follow each visit through to a clear customer handoff.
• Raise missing information, tools, access or unfinished work early so issues can be resolved before they lead to a callback.
• Give routine maintenance and closeout the same care as difficult diagnostics, and apply feedback consistently on later jobs.

Preferred experience

Relevant trade credentials, such as NATE or manufacturer certifications, are valued.

Compensation, schedule, and benefits

Base pay of $28–$35/hour (based on diagnostic experience and EPA certification) paid weekly, plus 5% commission. Working schedule is 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekly rotating on-call coverage. Assigned take-home company truck with fuel card; daily dispatch direct to first call, with shop commute to Freeport when restocking parts or meeting as a team. Traditional group health insurance and retirement plans are not offered. Paid time off (PTO) and company-paid training are not provided.

Service area and work environment

Field personnel take assigned service trucks home and dispatch directly to residential calls across Santa Rosa Beach, South Walton, and 30A. The Freeport facility serves as the supply, parts, and touchdown hub—not a residency boundary. Candidates living in or near Santa Rosa Beach or elsewhere within a practical response range are encouraged to apply. Work may involve primary homes, second homes, and vacation-rental properties, plus equipment affected by coastal humidity and salt-air exposure. Assignments depend on current customer needs.
