Your AC went out. It's 90 degrees inside and guests check in tomorrow — or it's midnight and your family can't sleep. This is the page for urgent situations. Call us. We review genuine after-hours emergencies directly and confirm availability before dispatch.
When to call for emergency service
Emergency HVAC service is for situations where waiting isn't safe or isn't an option. Call us immediately if:
- Cooling has stopped during hot weather and occupants may be at risk. For a medical or life-safety emergency, contact emergency services.
- Smoke, sparking or a burning-wire smell: stay clear, leave the area when needed and call 911. Do not touch wet equipment or an unsafe electrical panel.
- Water is actively flooding from the indoor unit, threatening to damage ceilings, walls, or flooring.
- You have elderly family members, infants, or anyone with a medical condition that requires climate control.
- Guests are checked into a vacation rental and the AC is out — this is a property-income and guest safety situation.
- The system has been running but producing no cooling effect for more than a few hours and the indoor temperature is rising.
If the situation is uncomfortable but not urgent — the AC is struggling but still cooling, or it's a mild day — call and we will tell you honestly where the request fits in the schedule.
Emergency availability
Same-day appointments are available Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, subject to availability. Emergency service is available 24/7 by phone through the on-call rotation. We confirm availability and the next step when you call; no arrival or restoration time is guaranteed.
Nighttime and weekend emergencies go through the phone-first on-call service. Ask about the available visit, diagnostic scope and any applicable charge before authorizing work.
Call the published number for emergency intake. Website forms are not an emergency channel.
Service area for emergency response
We respond to emergency calls across South Walton and the 30A corridor, including:
- Seaside and Seagrove Beach
- WaterColor and WaterSound
- Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach
- Santa Rosa Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton Beach, and Inlet Beach
- Destin, Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, and 30A communities
If you're not sure whether you're in our zone, call anyway — we'll tell you straight.
What emergency service includes
Service vehicles carry common replacement parts. Diagnosis and parts availability determine whether repair can proceed during the visit or needs a confirmed return plan.
The process:
- Diagnostic — identify the failure cause, not just the symptom.
- Present the fix, the cost, and (if relevant) what the underlying system's health looks like.
- Repair on-site when parts are available.
- If a major component is needed (compressor, refrigerant leak that requires significant leak search, major controls failure), we give you a written quote, a timeline, and honest guidance on whether temporary mitigation (window unit, portable AC) makes sense while we source the part.
For refrigerant-related faults, confirm the required work, technician availability and parts or equipment needs when the diagnosis is available.
Common after-hours failure patterns on 30A
Capacitor condition. Electrical component problems are one possible cause of a cooling outage. A technician should test against the component and equipment specifications before proposing replacement.
Frozen coil or refrigerant loss. System was working, now it isn't. Ice on the outdoor unit or the refrigerant lines. Can be low refrigerant (a leak) or airflow restriction (dirty filter, blocked return). Call for diagnosis of the actual cause rather than attempting to remove ice yourself.
Contactor condition. A control or power-switching fault may prevent startup. Diagnosis and suitable parts determine the repair plan.
Condensate drain overflow / float switch trip. The indoor unit shuts off as a safety precaution because the condensate drain pan is full or the line is clogged. Water may be dripping or flooding. The appropriate clearing method, treatment and overflow-control checks depend on the equipment and agreed work.
Tripped breaker — electrical issue. Sometimes it resets and stays on. Sometimes it trips immediately. A breaker that trips immediately on reset usually indicates an electrical fault in the unit — compressor hard start issue, wiring fault, or ground fault. Do not keep resetting it. Call.
Control board or thermostat failure. System simply won't respond to thermostat commands. Can be the thermostat itself, wiring, or the air handler's control board. We carry common boards and thermostats in the truck.
Pricing transparency
Ask for the diagnostic scope, any emergency or after-hours charges and the repair quote before authorizing work. Pricing depends on the actual fault, equipment, parts and proposed work.
If an emergency call reveals that the system is at end of life and replacement is the honest recommendation, we'll say so clearly and walk you through your options — including how to handle the immediate situation while a replacement is planned. See our AC installation and replacement page for that conversation.
Vacation rental hosts
A rental outage can disrupt a stay and require access and guest coordination. Tell the team who manages the property and its occupancy constraints. Emergency requests use the same phone-first on-call service; confirm current availability and the next step when calling.
Discuss an appropriate maintenance schedule for the equipment and occupancy. Maintenance can help identify concerns before a busy season, but cannot prevent every outage. See our maintenance plans for current options.
EPA 608-certified technicians
Our technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification for covered refrigerant work, and the company works under Florida contractor license CAC1823754. Discuss the diagnostic findings and proposed work before authorizing a repair.
Common questions
How is availability confirmed? Call for 24/7 emergency service through the on-call rotation. Same-day appointments Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM are subject to availability. The team confirms the next step when you call.
Do you carry parts on the truck? Vehicles carry common replacement parts. The actual diagnosis and parts availability determine whether the repair can proceed or needs a return plan.
What if my system can't be repaired same-night? We'll tell you that clearly, give you a written quote and timeline, and advise on immediate mitigation (fans, portable AC) if the situation requires it.
Which brands do you service? We service most major residential cooling and heating brands. Share the model and service need so the team can confirm the appropriate scope.
What about weekends and holidays? Emergency contact is available through the phone-first on-call service. Confirm any applicable charges and availability when you call; regular appointments are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, subject to availability.

Winter Heating Outages & Heat Pump Troubleshooting
While South Walton is renowned for summer heat, Florida Panhandle winters bring sudden cold fronts with temperatures dropping into the 30s and 40s°F. Coastal homes relying on air-source heat pumps can lose indoor comfort quickly when heating components experience cold-weather strain.
When Panhandle cold snaps hit, common heating issues include:
- System Blowing Chilly Air in Heat Mode: When a heat pump runs continuously but blows cool air indoors, the four-way reversing valve may be stuck in cooling mode, or auxiliary heating stages may have failed to engage.
- Outdoor Unit Heavily Encased in Solid Ice: Light frost on damp mornings is normal and clears during automated defrost cycles. If the defrost board or sensor malfunctions, frost accumulates into solid ice, suffocating coil airflow and causing safety shutdown.
- Tepid Air During Freezing Temperatures: If your system struggles to keep up during near-freezing nights, electric resistance heat strips, high-limit switches, or staging sequencers in the air handler may be offline.
- Thermostat Communication & Emergency Heat Lockouts: Misconfigured smart thermostats or control wiring faults can lock equipment into auxiliary heat, drastically increasing power consumption while failing to regulate room temperatures evenly.
Heating faults can involve controls, airflow, electrical components or other equipment conditions. Seasonal maintenance can help identify issues, but cannot prevent every outage. Ask about maintenance or request an assessment to discuss the actual system.
For an active heating outage, call for emergency service through the on-call rotation. The team confirms availability and the next step when you call.
